KATHMANDU, June 4: Nepa Hima Trade Link – the authorized distributor for Sony products in Nepal — has launched two new models of Sony cameras — DSC H 100 and DSC H 200 and – and Action Cam HDR-AS15 – full HD camcorder in the Nepali market.



Rajesh Tuladhar, executive director of the company and Jacqueline Lim, Sony´s head of digital product marketing, South East Asia, jointly launched the new products.



According to the company both the cameras have looks of a DSLR camera but the features of the compact camera. They sport 3-inch LCD.

The DSC H 100 is a 16.1 mega pixels camera with 21x zoom, while DSC H 200 is a 20.1 mega pixels camera with 26x zoom. Both the cameras cover a broad range of focal lengths from wide-angle 25 mm lens, Nepa Hima said in a statement.



Both the camera come with a six selectable shooting modes through the mode dial such as scene selection, intelligent auto, program, manual, sweep panorama and movie. Both the cameras have face detection and smile shutter features. “The camera is best for avid travelers as it runs on AA batteries which mean one does not have to worry about charging the camera through the journey and can carry batteries,” the statement added.

The company has fixed the price of DSC H 100 at Rs 23,500 and DSC H 200 Rs 26,000.



Likewise, Action Cam comes with an ultra-wide angle Carl Zeiss lens and captures blur-free smooth full HD video of 1080 pixels. According to the company, the SteadyShot image stabilization option compensates for camera shake on even the toughest and rockiest roads.



“The camcorder is perfect for athletes, capturing sports and moving objects as well as under water shooting. It comes with water proof housing for under water shooting,” the statement said, adding that the camera allows 4x slow motion as well.



The camcorder also has 2 mega pixels camera to shoot still photos. It supports Wi-Fi connectivity for sharing images easily. The camcorder is available at Rs 43,500.



Speaking at the launching ceremony, Lim said Nepal is a very important market for Sony. “We have introduced latest products in the market to make sure that Nepalis have easy access to such products,” he added.



The cameras went on sale at Sony stores and authorized outlets from Tuesday itself.
